The mission of DCBIA is to improve and promote the District of Columbia as both a center of business and a community in which to live, work and play. The Community Improvement Day is one of the many ways DCBIA members work to achieve this goal. For the last 15 years, the Community Services Committee of DCBIA has organized and carried out the renovation of 16 recreational parks and facilities, the total value of which is estimated at over $6 million in materials and labor. Each project has been conceived, planned and organized by a group of dedicated members that not only have the expertise to perform the work, but are also willing to give their considerable time, effort and resources to help improve the quality of life of youth in the city.
