Foundations Lunch Series
The Foundations Series will provide developing
leaders with introductory (101-level) information about
specialized functional areas critical to real estate.
Dynamic, experienced and knowledgeable industry experts
will provide foundational education with real-world
project examples through lunch seminars. The monthly
seminars will walk through a “curriculum” once
every two years based on feedback from the DLD membership
about subjects of interest. Through these seminars,
participants could learn to answer the following types
of questions:
How do we ensure that buildings
don’t fall down, and what impacts does
structural engineering have on design and cost?
What are the major terms in a commercial lease,
and what’s important to landlords and tenants?
What are the key components of zoning and land
use law which dictate what one can build on a
given property? What is a term sheet, letter
of intent, purchase and sale agreement, and how
are acquisition transactions negotiated?
